gaining recognition of being the most popular truck in Ford's fleet. Now with

SVT Lightning · STX · F-150 Heritage Edition Ford Motor Co.'s high performance
pickup truck, Lightning, is enjoying a monopoly in the high-horsepower hauler
market. It continues to equal the sales of other powerful and speedy sports cars
out there. The 2004 2005 Ford F-150 XLT trucks are all available in Regular Cab,
Super Cab, and SuperCrew cab engi neered for the pleasure and wide preference
of the buyers. New for this year, Ford F-150 trucks boast of the following features
on its engine makeup:
Regular cab models come standard with 4.2-liter, V-6 Split Port Intake OHV SEFI
that produces 202 horsepower at 4,800 rpm, and 252 pounds-per-foot of torque at
3,400 rpm.

Super cab models come standard with 4.6-liter, Triton V-8 SOHC SEFI that produces
231 horsepower at 4,750 rpm, and 293 pounds-per-foot of torque at 3,500 rpm. ·

SuperCrew cab models come standard with 5.4-liter, Triton V-8 SOHC SEFI that
produces 260 horsepower at 4,500 rpm, and 350 pounds-per- foot of torque at 2,500
rpm.
We know that the Lightning is based on the F-150 but though it is, Ford Lightning
has its own distinct characters to boast of. It has clear turn signal lenses,
crystalline headlamps, a unique front fascia, and the SVT signature round fog
lamps. Tests show that Lightning's performance in a straight line from 0-to-60
can be done in the mid-5-second range and in about 14 seconds of pushing the pedal
to the metal; it comes up satisfactorily in for a quarter-mile.
